American Horror Story: The Langdon Family's History Explained
American Horror Story is known for its twisted characters, but perhaps the series' most notorious (and villainous) family are the Langdons. Their influence spreads throughout several seasons of the show, including Murder House, Coven, and Apocalypse.
With a tenth season on the way for , including the possible return of the Rubber Man, there's a good chance audiences have not seen the last of the Langdon family.
American Horror Story first introduced the Langdon family in season 1. Murder House began Ryan Murphy's long-running horror anthology series on FX in with the Harmon family moving into a restored mansion with a dark and tragic history.
From there, it didn't take long for the Harmons to meet the Langdons next door, who used to live in the house. They were introduced to Constance, the matriarch of the family, and her children, Adelaide and Tate Langdon, who soon became crucial to many events to come, not only for season 1, but for others thereafter; as Ryan Murphy seems intent on returning to fan-favorite seasons like Murder House and Coven, there's always room to expand the Langdons' influence over the show through relatives or other branches of their family tree.

However, when she's struck and killed by a car while trick-or-treating, her mother finally admits to her that she is pretty, but it's too late and she dies there on the street.
Constance tries to drag her body onto the grounds of the Murder House as she is dying, but Addy's soul is spared and she remains Constance's only child not trapped on the property.

She appears only once in the show, in season 8, when she walks into the kitchen to remind her mother Constance that it is tea time. Both of her eyes have been gouged out or are missing. Whether or not she was born with this physical deformity or it happened as part of her death at Murder House remains a mystery. Whatever the case may be, the reason for her mysterious eyeless condition could be revealed in seasons to come, as there are still plenty of themes to explore and American Horror Story has been renewed for another three seasons.
